Odesee was my final year’s project at University, I developed a website which utilizes the fact that we are receptive to outside influences when we dream. Odesee allows members to send dream messages to themselves and other members in an attempt to influence their dreams. Odesee is not just about influencing dreams or having your dreams influenced it is also about the connections made when a dream is successfully influenced. Odesee creates a new experience for the member receiving the influential message and also a unique connecting experience between the sender and the receiver. The Dreamers Map is a visual representation of all Odesee members, their global location and their current Odesee status. Each Odesee member has an orb icon which is situated in the Dreamers Map according to its member’s global location, the orb gives an indication of its member’s current status by changing colour from grey to blue to red dependent on whether the member is offline, online or dreaming. The background of the Dreamers Map gives an indication of the time of day when a member is using it, it changes colour from a pale blue to black according to the time of day, the later the hour in the day the darker the shade of blue becomes until it reaches black late at night. When a member selects another member’s icon the Dreamers Map background will change according to the local time of the selected member, giving an indication of the time of day where that member resides.
